• Annual “Year in Scicomm” — a reflective live event covering trends in scicomm, member highlights, major wins, top resources, best writing sprint highlights, and suggestions for next year.
  
  Build a writing practice

• Monthly Writing Sprint — a 30–45 minute facilitated writing session based on a pre-decided prompt, followed by a short peer check-in.

• These sprints are designed to help members produce drafts quickly, build routine, overcome blank-page anxiety, reduce overthinking, work through writer’s block, and get motivating peer feedback.

• Quarterly “Publish Something” Challenge — a 6–8 week cohort challenge to move one piece from draft to publication or another public-facing output, with live check-ins, deadlines, peer-review checkpoints, and a final showcase.

• Accountability Pods bring together small groups of 3–5 members matched by goals and availability.

• Pods meet biweekly to set specific, measurable goals, share progress, exchange drafts, and hold one another accountable.

• Each pod receives a short facilitator guide and templates for goal-setting and feedback.

• Resource Library — templates, checklists, select course recordings, style guides, ebooks, short how-to guides, and more across writing, visuals, pitching, and outreach strategies.

• Weekly Discussion Prompt — a focused weekly post designed to spark quick exchanges, crowdsource ideas, and generate micro-feedback in 5–10 minutes.

• Monthly Scicomm Communiqué — a concise monthly email featuring top discussions, upcoming events, member wins, opportunities, recommended resources, an editorial note with a practical tip or prompt, and a member spotlight.

• Expert Feedback —  structured responses on the 10th and 25th of each month; each submission may include one draft review up to 500 words or responses to two questions.
